Sarah Zuccarelli, LBC Director, writes: "In November we attended a forum in Concord sponsored by the Sierra Club and the New Hampshire Department of Fish and Game focused on the best selling book Last Child in the Woods by Richard Louv. It has sparked a nationwide program "Leave No Child Inside".
"As a result, the L.B. Chapman Wildbird Sanctuary is starting a monthly "Walk About, Talk About" guided exploration of the trails at the L.B.C. Sanctuary, 740 Mt. Israel Road, Center Sandwich.
"You are invited to assemble on January 19 at 9 a.m. at the Sanctuary. Bring yourself, your children, your xc skis or snowshoes and your lunch. We will navigate the Sanctuary's trails and search for tracks, winter signs, and bird and animal activity. Winter is the perfect time to get outdoors and explore! Please come join us. You can come for an hour or spend the whole day. Now is the time to get outdoors and see the wonders of the winter world. Bring your xc skis or snowshoes and let's take a hike together!"
