In partnership with the Gainey Foundation, Trent University, Sir Sanford Fleming College's Sustainable Building and Design Program, the Ontario Government (MOE, MTCU), The Ontario Trillium foundation and many community partners including the Peterborough Field Naturalists, Peterborough Green-up and others: The Camp Kawartha Environment Centre will promote stewardship, sustainable community development, connect students with nature, teach environmental science, train future environmental educators and criteria are being developed for this to be a template for future intiatives in similar communities. One of Canada's most sustainable buildings and a new home for connecting children (of all ages) with nature
